What We Do
Boan is a family-owned construction company that has been doing business in the Gulf Coast region of the U.S. since 1960. Since our founding, Boan has and will continue to expand organically into new regions to meet the changing infrastructure needs of our clients - that is, we are “client focused,” not “geographically-focused.” We construct pipelines and facilities for the transportation and storage of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids, water, carbon dioxide and other products.

Boan has constructed thousands of miles of pipeline ranging from 2” to 42” in diameter, and we pride ourselves on our wide range of construction experience, versatility and ability to successfully execute complex projects that include pipelines, facilities or both. We also have extensive experience installing high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and other types of pipe in addition to carbon steel. On all our projects, we are committed to the execution of our duties in an efficient and timely manner with the overall goals of exceeding expectations, improving our client’s position in the marketplace and creating long-term relationships that benefit all parties. We achieve this mission by being innovative, experienced and client-focused.

Safety Culture
Safety is our #1 core value. We require that all of our employees - from top management to field-level supervisors and personnel - maintain the proper attitude toward protecting against injury and illness every day. This is further implemented through training and education, so that our people can better identify and prevent safety issues. Also as part of our Stop Work Authority Program, all Boan employees are not only expected, but also empowered, to stop all work when the HSE risk is not clearly established or understood.

For the three years ended 2021, Boan had an average Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.82 and a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 0.00, which are well below industry averages. We believe these statistics reflect Boan’s commitment to safety performance, and we will continuously seek to improve to reach our goal of zero incidents.

Equipment
Boan owns a large fleet of equipment which we use to perform our services, and our employees are well trained in the use of each. We own bulldozers, excavators, pipelayers, drilling and boring machines, cranes, tractors, backhoes and trucks among other equipment. Our fleet is consistently maintained to ensure safety and reliability, and we continuously strive to keep up with new technology, particularly in the area of steerable directional drilling. By using our own equipment, both we and our clients gain better reliability and productivity, and we are better able to respond to our clients when the inevitable changes arise during construction.
